ART is a patented, state of the art movement-based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves where an ART practitioner will use manual pressure and tension, combined with specific movements as part of the treatment protocol. Headaches, neck and back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few ofthe many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles. Overused muscles may cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in and around the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue accumulates, muscles become shorter and weaker causing increased tension on connective tissue. This may result in conditions known as tendonitis or bursitis. Over time, scar tissue may cause nerve entrapment, lead to decreased joint motion, loss of strength, and significant pain. If a nerve is trapped, one may also experience sensory changes such as numbness, tingling, pins and needles.
GT is a unique, evidence-based form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively and efficiently address soft tissue lesions, scar tissue, and fascial restrictions resulting in pain relief and increased functional movement.
GT makes use of specially designed stainless steel instruments with unique treatment edges to deliver an effective means of manual therapy. The use of GT instruments, when combined with appropriate therapeutic exercise, leads to the restoration of pain-free movement and function. Treatment involves the topical application of a lubricant followed by use of a GT instrument to help break down scar tissue and adhesions around the area of injury.
